Overview

The Senior Director, Medical Affairs Insights & Field Operations, is responsible for supporting a high-performance Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team through strategic planning, performance analytics, and the development of scientific content related to our product, pipeline, and disease state education. This role will serve as a key leader within Medical Affairs focusing on enhancing field-based operations, translating customer insights into actionable departmental and corporate strategies, and fostering collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to drive alignment. This role will also play a critical role in the development of high-impact, customer-facing scientific engagement strategies that strengthen interactions with healthcare professionals and support organizational objectives. The ideal candidate is both analytical and creative with significant therapeutic expertise in Neuroscience/CNS as well as exceptional communication, leadership, and cross-functional partnership skills. 

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Medical Affairs leadership to develop and refine MSL strategic plans aligned with annual departmental/organizational goals and objectives,
  • Lead the analysis of field medical activities and performance metrics to identify best practices, enhance scientific communication, and optimize MSL effectiveness,
  • Oversee the creation and dissemination of high-quality, innovative, and compliant scientific/educational tools including slide decks, SIUU materials, HCP surveys, disease state presentations and other field facing resources to enhance HCP contacts,
  • Translate field insights into clear, actionable strategies which support Medical Affairs planning, evidence generation, and stakeholder engagement,
  • Develop dashboards, reporting tools, and data visualization solutions for senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders,
  • Collaborate with Clinical Development & Operations to support the creation of scientific materials for developing pipeline assets,
  • Partner with Legal, Regulatory and other cross-functional teams to ensure all field medical materials developed for the field are compliant with company policies and industry standards.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree strongly preferred (eg, PharmD, PhD, MD),
    • 10+ years experience in Medical Affairs with Bachelor’s degree; 8+ years of experience with advanced degree; experience in the therapeutic area of Neuroscience/CNS is highly preferred,
    • Prior experience in analytics, business intelligence, or related function within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry is preferred,
    • Prior experience in MSL operations, including analytics of field scientific interactions, is preferred,
    • Experience with visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) and CRM systems (e.g., Veeva)
    • Strong project management and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership.
