Overview

The Sr. Manager of Commercial Learning & Development is responsible for partnering with the Marketing Center to provide learning and development support to achieve their learning goals and objectives. This position will report directly to the Executive  Director, Commercial Learning & Development and will assume ownership of  developing and executing best in class training activities.  

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on  learning methods, techniques, modalities, adult learning principles, and facilitation skills.
  • Provide best in class coaching and selling support for SKLSI’s portfolio of products.
  • Manage  the facilitation of new hire classes and ongoing training activities focused on product knowledge, market knowledge, field operation resources and selling skills, ensuring participants  can accurately deliver  both product and market knowledge to customers.
  • Partake in  the development  and management of new hire and product training curricula, training content, workshops and professional and personal development programs.
  • Partner  with internal and external subject matter experts to ensure cohesive, integrated training materials are developed and delivered  on time and within budget.
  • Manage  sales training program updates to ensure alignment with performance goals and objectives.
  • Utilize  metrics and other tools to assess effectiveness of sales and product training programs and make recommendations for improvement as relevant.
  • Manage  sales and product training materials within the company’s learning management system and  other platforms.
  • Plan  and execute sales training events and meetings, including the defining of goals and agendas and the coordinating of logistics with the Marketing Center Leadership team.
  • Partner with internal and external subject matter experts to ensure learning materials align with commercial goals and strategy, and target objectives and quality levels are achieved..
  • Participate in field visits to conduct need analysis for training initiatives.
  • Analyze field sales force  data and performance reports  to identify training support opportunities.
  • Assist with department budget tracking, procurement processes and related management activity.
  • Make recommendations on the allocation and reallocation of resources over the course of each calendar year.
  • Partner with Regulatory, Compliance, Human Resources, and other appropriate departments to design and deliver relevant and compliant training programs.
  • Provide guidance and share best practices with the sales organization.
  •  Actively research and stay informed of new training methods and techniques and share  the information.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Five or more years of professional experience within the pharmaceutical/medical device or related industry
  • Sales trainer experience preferred
  • Prior experience within CNS and/or epilepsy preferred
  • Prior sales management and or Leadership Development experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with ability to work cross functionally across sales, marketing, market access, field operations, and senior leadership
  • Proficient project management and analytical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and related training techniques preferred
  • Able to recognize needs and implement training programs
  • Self-motivated and highly comfortable taking ownership and delivering results in a fast-paced environment with high ambiguity
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously, and adjust swiftly to changing business priorities
  • Ability to effectively compete for resources both with internal and external customers
  • Proven leadership skills and strong business acumen
  • Strong platform skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Adobe.
