Overview

The Executive Director of Operations & Strategy will serve as a key architect of organizational efficiency and a strategic bridge between the U.S. subsidiary and the Korean parent company. Reporting directly to the Chief of Staff, this role is responsible for translating high-level corporate vision into actionable operational plans, identifying organizational gaps, and ensuring seamless cross-functional alignment. The ideal candidate possesses a sophisticated understanding of both the U.S. pharmaceutical landscape and Korean corporate culture.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Collaborate with the U.S. Executive Team and Korean HQ to define and refine long-term corporate strategies.
  • Translate complex strategic goals into measurable operational KPIs and departmental workstreams.
  • Lead the "Program Management Office" (PMO) function for strategic corporate initiatives.

 

Global Liaison & HQ Alignment

  • Act as liaison with parent company strategy team to ensure alignment and coordination on strategic initiatives.
  • Manage the cultural and operational nuances of cross-border collaboration to ensure "one-team" alignment on key strategic initiatives.

 

Operational Excellence & Gap Analysis

  • Work with business functions to conduct rigorous organizational assessments to identify gaps in resources, capabilities, and processes.
  • Work with business functions to design and roll out operational improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with the General Counsel to ensure all operational strategies align with U.S. regulatory and legal frameworks.

Executive Communications & Leadership

  • Prepare presentations, and briefing materials for the company leadership.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration by breaking down silos between business units and with parent company.
  • Lead special projects.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 12+ years in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with at least 5 years in a strategic or operational leadership role.
  • Education: MBA or advanced degree (JD, PhD, or PharmD) is highly preferred.
  • Cultural Competency: Proven experience working within a Korean corporate environment (Chaebol experience or similar) and fluency in Korean (speaking/writing) is often essential for this specific liaison role.
  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to see the "big picture" while maintaining the technical discipline to execute granular operational tasks.
  • Communication: Exceptional presence; the ability to distill complex data into clear, persuasive executive-level narratives.
