Overview

  • Partner with the Senior Director, Market Development to align, develop and execute the market development strategy ensuring SKLSI is correctly positioned at targeted Epilepsy Centers nationwide
  • Lead a team of Market Development Managers (MDM) to achieve functional goals tied to  increasing SKLSI’s awareness in the CNS marketplace through developing and leveraging relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), medical associations, advocacy groups, and promotional medical education groups to achieve strategic initiatives
  • Liaise with KOLs and internal teams (e.g., Marketing, Market Access, Medical, etc.) to ensure seamless interactions including working with Regional Sales Directors  to identify  KOLs and up and coming KOLs and provide introductions to other company  personnel
  • Support reporting team employees in identifying and supporting opportunities with medical associations and government agencies that benefit patients and clinicians
  • Partner with Sales and Sales Leadership on strategic initiatives that will advance SKLSI’s position within the CNS marketplace
  • Provide key objective progress reports and related  action recommendations to leadership
  • Support Business Development efforts through  acquisition of competitive and marketplace intelligence and communication of it
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships cross-functionally to ensure alignment on strategy and messaging within the scope of projects
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director, Market Development on the development  of annual brand business and budget plan, strategy, and objectives
  • Identify and anticipate attractive market opportunities and relay the information to leadership
  • Manage team  Conference and Travel and Entertainment budgets
  • Understand and comply with company legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements as well as federal and state laws  related to customer interactions

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of six Marketing Development Managers (MDM’s)
  • Oversee the development of individual MDM business plans working in close coordination with Marketing and Sales leadership
  • Ensure the coordination and execution of MDM strategic and tactical plans
  • Manage the MDM team to achieve established goals and objectives, and coach and develop their skillsets to enhance overall performance
  • Approve expense reports and conduct mid-year and final performance evaluations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Ten or more years of related Market Development, Sales Leadership, Marketing or other Commercial experience in the Pharmaceutical or related Healthcare markets
  • Commercial Leadership experience preferred
  • Work is typically performed in an office or field environment; candidate must reside in one of the regions covered in the role
  • Business travel, minimum 40%, by air or car is required for regular internal and external meetings
  • May be required to routinely lift items ~25 pounds
  • Sitting or standing for long periods of time
  • Valid driver’s license and suitable driving record
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management and organization skills
