You will work in collaboration with chemistry, structural biology, DMPK, bioinformatics, and additional matrixed team members to drive programs through all phases of drug discovery and translational science.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior member of biology department
  • Lead a multi-functional drug discovery project team with a chemistry co-leader to drive every aspect of the project, including scientific decisions and budgetary proposals
  • Responsible (with chemistry co-project leader) for delivery of development compounds
  • Lead a team of biologists who are responsible for the design, development, and execution of in vitro and in vivo assays to support progression of the programs
  • Move programs forward in a fast-paced environment
  • Interpret, summarize, and present research findings at internal and external scientific meetings
  • Provide advice of budget and staff projections to head of biology
  • Responsible for end-to-end discovery biology including target identification, validation, pharmacology, biomarker discovery, and translational biology
  • Ensure data quality and data integrity
  • Lead target assessment from external sources: academia and external collaborators
